Schlumberger will provide engineering support for drill bits for UGV

Schlumberger Services Ukraine LLC, the subsidiary of the international service company Schlumberger (SLB), which is one of the Big Four service companies in the oil and gas market, has submitted the best offer in the tender of Ukrgasvydobuvannya JSC (UGV) for the provision of engineering support services for drill bits during the wells construction and expects to sign a contract worth UAH 62.37 million (including VAT).

The tender was announced on the Prozorro platform with an expected value of UAH 80.87 million (including VAT). The place of services provision – wells in the Kharkiv region. The term of services provision – until December 31, 2024. Three companies took part in the tender: Newtech Ukraine with an offer of UAH 79.87 million, Ulterra Ukraine LLC – UAH 62.69 million, and Schlumberger Services Ukraine LLC – UAH 62.37 million.

According to the published tender information, the wells are planned to be drilled in intermediate strings (245 and 340 mm in diameter) and production strings (178 mm in diameter) at a depth of up to 4,750 meters. The drilling is planned to be carried out using drilling rigs (Uralmash, Honghua, and Bentec manufacturers) provided by UGV. The total amount of meters planned to be drilled – 45,000.

The last time, in October 2023, UGV held a similar tender. The term of services provision – until December 31, 2024. The total amount of meters planned to be drilled in intermediate and production strings – is 25,000. The winner of the tender was DP Service LLC, with which UGV signed a contract worth UAH 52.46 million (including VAT) in November 2023.

As a reminder, in April 2023, the National Agency on Corruption Prevention (NACP) added Schlumberger (SLB) to the list of international sponsors of war, as the company did not leave the Russian market after the start of the full-scale invasion but expanded its business in the Russian Federation. Later, the Cabinet of Ministers abandoned the list of international war sponsors.
