QatarEnergy and Taiwan's CPC sign NFE project partnership agreement and LNG supply agreement

QatarEnergy has signed definitive agreements with Taiwan's CPC Corporation covering long-term LNG supplies to CPC and a partnership in the North Field East LNG (NFE) expansion project.

The parties signed the LNG Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA), which supplies 4 million tons of LNG (5.5 bcm) per year from the NFE LNG expansion project for 27 years.

The parties also signed a share purchase agreement, under which QatarEnergy will transfer to CPC a 5% stake in the equivalent of one NFE unit with a capacity of 8 million tons of LNG (11 bcm) per year.

The NFE project is part of the overall North Field LNG expansion program, which also includes the North Field South and North Field West projects, which together will increase Qatar's LNG production capacity from the current 77 million tons of LNG (106 bcm) per year to 142 million tons of LNG (196 bcm) in 2030.
