Poland took Gazprom's share in the operator of the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline

The Polish authorities have decided to withdraw the share of Russian Gazprom from the company EuRoPol Gaz, which is the operator of the Polish section of the Yamal-Europe gas pipeline. This is reported by Parkiet.

According to the publication, the decision was made by the Minister of Development and Technologies Waldemar Buda at the request of the Internal Security Agency of Poland.

As Parkiet writes, the decision, which must be implemented immediately, provides for the procedure for the formation of the primary management to ensure the functioning of the EuRoPol Gaz company. Gazprom's share in EuRoPol Gaz was 48%. Radoslav Kwasnytskyi became the head of the management of nationalized shares.

Earlier, after Russia's invasion of Ukraine, Poland imposed sanctions against Gazprom, which, in particular, froze the company's assets in Poland, including Gazprom's stake in EuRoPol Gaz.

Russian gas supplies through the Yamal-Europe pipeline were suspended in May 2022 after Russia imposed counter-sanctions against EuRoPol Gaz.
