Pilot Drilling Technologies drilled a sidetrack for Goryzonty Service Company

The Ukrainian technology company Pilot Drilling Technologies has successfully drilled a sidetrack with its own developed and manufactured PL-WSMSA ANTEY sidetracking system for Goryzonty Service Company LLC.

This is the first sidetracking system in Ukraine to be created by Ukrainian engineers fully from idea to implementation. Before that, the only foreign-made systems were used in Ukraine.

Currently, sidetracking is one of the key technologies for increasing hydrocarbon production in Ukraine. Many vertical wells of the old reserve in Ukraine are either in conservation or at the final stage of operation. One of the main possibilities to increase production from old wells is to use sidetracking, horizontal drilling, and multi-stage hydraulic fracturing in a horizontal well. This significantly increases the flow rate and increases the reserve recovery factor in fields that are at the final stage of operation.

"The Pilot DT team of engineers has developed this sidetracking system for 1 year. Currently, Pilot Drilling Technologies is implementing several projects to develop new technologies as part of the GENESYS innovation direction," said Vasyl Voloshynivskyi, owner and CEO of Pilot DT.

It is important to note that the success of the project was achieved thanks to the direct participation of two Ukrainian companies that provided their facilities for testing. These are RTE Burova Technika LLC and Goryzonty Service Company LLC.
