OMV Petrom and CE Oltenia sign contract for 550 MW solar power plant
Romania’s largest energy company OMV Petrom and state-owned company CE Oltenia have signed contracts for 4 solar parks with a total installed capacity of approximately 550 MW.
The electricity generated will be fed into the national grid and is expected to cover the annual consumption of around 410,000 households.
Contractors A consortium formed by the US company Ameresco and the Greek company Sunel will design and build three of the four solar parks – Rovinari, Tismana 1 and Tismana 2 – with a total capacity of approximately 460 MW. The fourth photovoltaic park with a capacity of approximately 90 MW will be built by the Turkish company Girisim Elektrik.
The total investment exceeds EUR 400 million, approximately 70% of which is financed through the Modernization Fund.
