Norway will finance the purchase of natural gas by Ukraine for $195 million

Norwegian authorities on Monday said they had agreed to help Ukraine buy natural gas for the heating season by providing NOK 2 billion ($195 million) in financing. This is reported by Reuters.

The funds, which are part of a previously announced aid package of NOK 10 billion, will come through the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

"It is important to channel support through a reputable, internationally recognized organization that will ensure the efficient and transparent use of funding," Norwegian Finance Minister Trygve Slagsvold Vedum said in a statement.

As reported by ExPro, Naftogaz discussed strengthening energy security with the EBRD.
