NEURC plans to make a preliminary decision on the Ukrtransgaz certification

At its March 1 meeting, the National Commission for State Regulation of Energy and Utilities (NEURC) plans to make a preliminary decision on the certification of Ukrtransgaz JSC as a gas storage operator.

The NEURC will adopt the relevant resolution on March 1. The NEURC will also inform the Secretariat of the Energy Community of the preliminary decision on the certification of the gas storage operator.

Considering the documents, data, and information provided by Ukrtransgaz and other interested persons and organizations, the NEURC established the possibility of making a preliminary decision on the certification of Ukrtransgaz as a gas storage operator.

Along with this, Ukrtransgaz should implement measures aimed at concluding with the Ministry of Energy a corresponding contract for the use of state property, necessary for the UTG's economic activity of natural gas storage.

Also, UTG must notify the NEURC and the Ministry of Energy as soon as possible about changes in the state of economic relations or receipt of applications from economic entities, the ultimate beneficial owners of which are citizens or the Russian Federation, regarding the injection (withdrawal) of natural gas from gas storage facilities or the declaration of natural gas being moved through the customs border of Ukraine.
