Natural gas reserves in Ukrainian storages exceeded 9.7 bcm

According to the updated data of Ukrtransgaz JSC as of June 9, gas reserves in Ukrainian UGS amount to slightly less than 9.75 bcm, considering buffer gas for long-term storage. Thus, compared to last year, Ukrainian UGS stores 4% or 430 mcm less gas. At the current rate of injection, Ukraine may reach the level of 10 bcm of gas in storage on June 18.

Since the start of this year's gas injection season (April 15), more than 980 mcm of natural gas have been injected into Ukrainian UGS. During the last month, the injection rate has remained at the level of 17-32 mcm per day.

By the beginning of the next heating season, Ukraine intends to inject 14-14.7 bcm of natural gas into Ukrainian UGS. According to ExPro's calculations, by the beginning of October, Ukraine can inject another 3.5 bcm of gas without imports. In the presence of imports, the volumes of injection may increase.

Considering that European storages continue to be actively filled, there is a high probability that foreign companies will inject natural gas into Ukrainian storages in late summer or autumn.
