Natural gas production in Ukraine in January increased by 2.3% to 1.72 bcm

Ukraine increased its natural gas production up to 1.72 bcm a month, or by 2.3% more January 2022 to January 2021, according to the operative data of the Gas TSO of Ukraine LLC (GTSOU).

That was also the highest monthly volume of production since May 2020. The average daily production during January 2022 was 55.4 mcm.

JSC UkrGasVydobuvannya (UGV) increased production by 1.6% (18 mcm) to 1.19 bcm. The volume of natural gas supplied for the needs of Ukrainian consumers (commercial gas - excluding costs for own production needs), is 1.12 bcm, 2% (23 mcm) more than in January 2021.

Instead, private companies, according to ExPro estimates, in January 2022 increased their production of natural gas by 4%, up to more than 430 mcm during the month.

Interestingly, on January 31, 2022, Ukrainian production of natural gas grew by 2% (+1.1 mcm), from 55.4 mcm up to 56.5 mcm. The UGV’s daily production of natural gas during January 2022 increased by 800 tcm, up to 39.3 mcm, other companies grew in their daily productions of natural gas by 200 tcm a day more, or up to 17.2 mcm a day collectively.
