Naftogaz will supply 4.42 mcm of gas for Energoatom's gas turbine unit

Gas Supply Company Naftogaz Trading LLC will supply 4.42 mcm of natural gas to Energoatom, according to ExPro monitoring.

The procurement was held with one participant, as Naftogaz Trading has special obligations (PSO) to supply natural gas to electricity producers, including gas turbine plants, at a fixed price of 16,500 UAH/tcm (including VAT).

The parties signed two contracts on June 28 and July 8, 2024. According to the first contract, Naftogaz Trading will supply Energoatom with 820.8 tcm of natural gas from June 28 to July 31, 2024, for a total amount of UAH 13.68 million (including VAT). Under the second contract, Naftogaz Trading will also supply 3.6 mcm of gas from July 9 to July 31, 2024, for a total amount of UAH 59.99 million (including VAT).

The purchased natural gas will be used for the 28 MW TM 2500 Gen6 gas turbine unit to generate electricity. The United States through the USAID Energy Security Project handed over the generating unit to Energoatom early last year. Since natural gas supplies have already begun, it is likely that the Energoatom plant started operating in late June and began generating electricity from natural gas.

As reported by Energy Minister Herman Halushchenko in June 2024, Energoatom has already connected a 28 MW gas turbine mobile power plant previously received from USAID.
