Naftogaz seeks partners in environmentally-friendly management of drilling waste
Naftogaz is looking for new environmentally-friendly practices and technologies to minimize the impact of the company's drilling activities on the environment. This is reported by the press service of the Naftogaz Exploration and production division. According to the report, under production plans, construction of the new wells is planned for 2021. To fulfil its environmental safety obligations, Naftogaz is looking for an experienced partner who will offer a modern approach to drilling waste disposal.
In addition to the relevant licences for the handling, transportation, processing, and disposal of a particular class of waste, partner companies are expected to offer technological regulations for the management of drilling waste. Also, they should have relevant work experience or manufacture or supply equipment for drying such waste and cleaning the liquid phase.
"We are trying to harmonize the interests of business and the state with the environmental and social interests of society. We have developed and approved an environmental policy, and we also strictly adhere to the Law of Ukraine On wastes. Therefore, we are looking for partners that can ensure the process of drilling waste disposal under our and legislation requirements. We are not interested in the proposals "just take the wastes to the landfill". It is important that the wastes leaving the well were dry, and then we will be confident in the environmental friendliness of the process and the preservation of the environment," said Oleksandr Poternak, drilling director of UGV.
