Naftogaz purchased 523 mcm of gas with EBRD funds last winter

In the previous heating season of 2022-2023, Naftogaz of Ukraine NJSC purchased 523.3 mcm of natural gas with the funds of a loan and a grant from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).

A total of 55 contracts for the supply of natural gas from Europe were concluded for a total amount of €413.2 million, of which €224.6 million were renewable loan funds and €188.7 million were EBRD grant funds with the support of the Norway Government. All eight suppliers were selected as part of the EBRD's pre-selection process.

From October 2022 to February 2023, Naftogaz purchased 202 mcm of imported natural gas under the EBRD loan in the amount of €224.6 million with delivery in November 2022, January, and February 2023. The weighted average price under these contracts was €1,113.34/tcm.

During February - March 2023, Naftogaz purchased 322 mcm of imported natural gas within the framework of the EBRD grant for a total amount of €188.7 million with delivery in February, March, and April 2023. The weighted average price under these contracts was €586.71/tcm.
