Naftogaz opens the first gas stations under the U.GO brand at the site of the arrested Glusco gas stations

Naftogaz of Ukraine JSC is starting a pilot launch of gas stations of the arrested Glusco chain under its own trademark U.GO in Kyiv and the Kyiv region. This was reported by the company's press service.

According to the company, the first batch of 30 gas stations will start operating in Kyiv and the region already in September, the rest will be based on the results of coordination of all necessary legal procedures with the Agency for Search and Asset Management.

One may remind that in May 2022, the Government of Ukraine decided to transfer the property of Glusco Ukraine LLC and Glusco Retail LLC, seized as part of criminal proceedings, to the management of Naftogaz Oil Trading LLC to prevent the risk of an emergency in the energy sector, and precisely the shortage of gasoline and diesel fuel. In total, 172 objects were handed over to Naftogaz.

"The company focused on meeting the needs of the market as quickly as possible. Therefore, we deliberately decided to start work even before the full completion of the change of corporate style of the gas station. In addition, such a step will make it possible to restore the seized assets as soon as possible, employ people and pay taxes and fees to the budget of Ukraine", - noted the director of Naftogaz Oil Trading Volodymyr Bychkov.

The first gas stations under the U.GO brand began operating in 2017 in Kharkiv and the region. U.GO trademark belongs to Ukrgazvydobuvannya JSC. Starting in 2022, Naftogaz Oil Trading also has the right to use it, which plans to expand the network in other regions.
