Naftogaz is no longer unprofitable - Chernyshov

Naftogaz emerged from default in 2023, launched the domestic gas market, and ensured a stable gas supply for 12.3 million consumers. Oleksiy Chernyshov, head of Naftogaz of Ukraine NJSC, spoke about the results of the year for the company, reports Kosatka Media.

"2023 began as a year of challenges for the Naftogaz Group. Time to talk about how we end it. First and foremost, we managed to restore trust. Consumer trust is like a stable and transparent company. The trust of the government is like an enterprise that can overcome obstacles and maximize efficiency in the most difficult times. The trust of international partners - as an equal market participant who can fulfill all the commitments made. The trust of cities and communities is a reliable partner," Chernyshov noted.

He reminded that the second heating season continues without a penny from the state budget and exclusively with Ukrainian gas. In addition to increasing its gas production and launching the largest number of new wells over the past 20 years, Naftogaz purchased 962 mcm of privately produced gas on the Ukrainian Energy Exchange during the year.
