Naftogaz has discovered a new Zhemchuzhna field with gas deposits at 6,000m

Ukrgasvydobuvannya JSC (part of the Naftogaz Group) has discovered a new promising field – Zhemchuzhna in the Poltava region - in the framework of the so-called greenfields development, the press service reports.

The discovery of the field was made possible due to exploration works in difficult geological conditions at significant depths exceeding 6,000 m. According to their results, the Company drilled an exploration well, which confirmed gas deposits and gave a commercial inflow of gas – almost 100 tcm per day. The proven reserves of the Zhemchuzhna field amount to 200 mcm of gas, and the prospective reserves and resources amount to over 2 bcm. The total acreage of the new field is 213 sq. km. and 5 gas-saturated horizons are defined within it
