Naftogaz fulfilled its obligations regarding the new IMF program - Chernyshov

Naftogaz of Ukraine NJSC has fully fulfilled its obligations regarding the new program of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), the Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz, Oleksiy Chernyshov, said during a meeting with the head of the IMF mission in Ukraine, Gavin Gray, in Washington (USA) on April 20, 2023.

Deputy head of the mission Nathan Epstein and deputy head of the European department of the foundation Uma Ramakrishnan also took part in the meeting. Chernyshov noted that the company will continue to faithfully fulfill its obligations.

"Cooperation with the IMF is crucial for the stability of our country in times of war. The fact that we have a program is a signal to the civilized world that the country is moving in the right direction. Ukraine has made its civilizational choice. Naftogaz has fulfilled its part of the conditions for our country to receive the IMF program. This demonstrates that we are a reliable partner. Naftogaz will not let the country down," Chernyshov emphasized.

The representatives of the IMF confirmed that all the conditions for obtaining the recent agreement with the government of Ukraine on extended financial assistance, which related to Naftogaz, were fully fulfilled by the Group of Companies. They added that Naftogaz is a particularly important partner of the Fund.

Within the framework of the meeting, the parties also synchronized their positions regarding the fulfillment of the conditions of the specified program for the stable allocation of funds for it.

It will be recalled that one of the conditions of the IMF was the election of a new independent supervisory board of Naftogaz and the start of its work. On January 24, 2023, the Cabinet of Ministers appointed the Supervisory Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine.
