Naftogaz discussed the purchase of additional gas on special terms with the Norwegian Equinor

Oleksiy Chernyshov, Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine, held a meeting with Anders Opedal, the president and CEO of Norway's largest oil and gas company, Equinor. The main topic of the conversation was strengthening strategic partnerships and purchasing the additional volume of gas that Ukraine needs for the heating season. This was reported by the Naftogaz press service.

“Equinor is a strategic partner of Naftogaz not only on issues related to the purchase of gas but also for the potential development of national production. Cooperation between our group of companies and Equinor began more than 10 years ago. I am convinced that our strategic partnership is now reaching a new level,” said Chernyshov.

The head of Naftogaz also noted that the company has initial agreements with Equinor regarding purchasing additional gas volume for the heating season. Naftogaz hopes for special procurement conditions and further reservation of the necessary volume.

In addition, on December 1, Oleksiy Chernyshov met with the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Norway, Erik Svedahl. They discussed the involvement of technologies of the Norwegian oil and gas business and the financing of the purchase of the additional volume of gas needed by Ukraine to survive the winter, given Russia's constant missile terror.

The Norwegian ambassador noted that he expects an increase in the announced volumes of his country's aid to Ukraine and added that future funding would also be allocated to ensure Ukraine's energy security.
