Naftogaz denies rumors of oil transit suspension to Europe before the end of the contract

The Chairman of the Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine NJSC has denied rumors that Russian oil transit will be suspended until the end of the contract. This was reported by Naftogaz in a comment to ExPro.

“I categorically deny the rumors about the termination of oil transportation to Europe before the end of the contract.

Ukraine remains a reliable partner for European countries. We understand the importance of a stable energy supply for the population better than anyone else, so we will continue to fulfill our obligations under the existing gas and oil transportation contracts,” Chernyshev commented.

According to Chernyshev, this is confirmed by the successful negotiations with the Slovak government and large energy businesses that the Naftogaz CEO held during his visit to Bratislava this week.

“At the same time, we support and contribute in every possible way to the speedy diversification of Europe's energy supply sources,” summarized Oleksiy Chernyshov.

As a reminder, the media reported that Ukraine is going to stop transporting Russian oil through the Druzhba pipeline from January 1, 2025.
