Naftogaz begins the purchase of natural gas produced in Ukraine

Naftogaz of Ukraine NJSC invites market participants to participate in exchange auctions for the purchase of Ukrainian-produced natural gas. The UEEX press service reported this.

Purchases of natural gas will be made on the organized commodity market. The Ukrainian Energy Exchange (UEEX) has been designated as the venue for procurement. The company plans to purchase natural gas with delivery points at the virtual trading point (VTT) and/or underground gas storage facilities (UGS) with delivery during the current and next months (MA).

Prospective bidders must familiarize themselves with the Anti-Corruption Program, undergo an internal review by the Company, and submit a completed, signed, and stamped (if applicable) Questionnaire and Ownership Structure. Gas will be purchased directly by Naftogaz of Ukraine. Not only private production companies are allowed to trade, but all companies that will pass the company inspection, including traders.

The price of gas will be determined based on the results of the auctions; the starting price is currently unknown. Also, it is not yet known when exactly the company will hold the first auctions, but it is expected that soon.
