MGU will continue to take the necessary steps to increase trading volumes of GTSOUA in the exchange

The Supervisory Board of JSC "Main Gas Pipelines of Ukraine" (MGU) is working on measures to increase the participation of LLC "Gas TSO of Ukraine" (GTSOUA) in the Ukrainian Energy Exchange (UEEX) for the purchase and sale of gas to balance the gas transmission system, according to the press service of company.

To create the preconditions for GTSOUA to enter the exchange and coordinate the actions of the Operator and the UEEX, a number of meetings were held, and relevant documents were developed and agreed upon, according to the MGU.

Since 19 January of this year, the GTSOUA has participated in trading at the exchange for five days. According to the results of the bidding, more than 3.3 mcm were purchased. “These volumes are relatively small, but much higher than the volumes of previous attempts of GTSOUA at the exchange”, - noted in the company.

In addition, the Supervisory Board instructed GTSOUA to promptly prepare proposals for the Company's action plan for the heating season 2021-2022 to ensure the liquidity of the Operator and the ability to balance the GTS.

For its part, the MGU Supervisory Board will continue to take the necessary steps to increase trading volumes of GTSOUA in the exchange and encourages natural gas market participants to participate more actively in exchange trading.
