MGRES will provide 95% of Moldova's electricity needs in June

Moldova extended the contract with the Moldovan GRES, located in Transnistria and controlled by the Russian Inter RAO, for another month. In June, the station will cover 95% of Moldova in electricity.

This was reported by the state company Energocom.

"SA Energocom extended the contract with MGRES for the month of June for the purchase of approximately 303,000 MWh. This amount is 95% of the necessary consumption of the right bank of the Dniester. The price is USD 66/MWh, agreed at the end of March, for 6 months," the message reads.

The rest of the electricity will be purchased by Moldova on the Romanian OPCOM exchange.

Also, Energocom reported that since May 24, Ukraine has not supplied electricity to Moldova, these volumes were additionally purchased from OPCOM.

According to ExPro data, in May Ukraine exported 23,500 MWh to Moldova, which is half the volume of exports in this direction in April.
