Lithuania's Klaipedos Nafta won tenders for the commercial management of German LNG terminals

International energy terminal operator SC Klaipėdos Nafta (SC KN) has won a public tender for the commercial management of four German LNG terminals on the North Sea coast from January 10, 2024.

The company signed a contract with the German state-owned company Deutsche Energy Terminal (DET), which managed Germany's first LNG terminals on the North Sea coast, Wilhelmshaven 1 and the Brunsbüttel terminal, on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate, and will also manage two future ones - Wilhelmshaven 2 and a terminal in the town of Stade on the lower Elbe.

KN said the two-year contract with DET covers the commercial management of all four terminals. Until now, KN provided these services for LNG terminals in Wilhelmshaven 1 and Brunsbüttel.

Commercial management services for the terminals will include management of commercial and logistics operations, gas dispatch processes, accounting and reporting of commercial activities in DET, development and provision of IT systems and tools, and other terminal operational services tailored to the client's needs, KN said.
