Kyiv starts the heating season for residential buildings on October 30

Kyiv will start the heating season for residential buildings on October 30, Kyiv Mayor Vitaliy Klychko has announced. He said the city made this decision given the further significant cold snap.

“Given the weather conditions and forecasters' predictions of a significant drop in temperature, the average daily temperature for three days will be below +8 degrees, we will start connecting residential buildings to heat on Wednesday, October 30,” Klychko said.

The centralized heating system in Kyiv, which is one of the largest in Europe in terms of technology, takes about 7 days to fully deploy.

As a reminder, Kyiv started connecting social institutions (schools, hospitals, kindergartens) to heat on October 14.
