In the first half of 2021, Naftogaz is still at a loss of UAH 1.7 billion

In Q2 2021, when Yuriy Vitrenko replaced Andriy Kobolyev as the Executive Board Chairman, Naftogaz of Ukraine National Joint-Stock Company received a net profit of UAH 8.5 billion. For the same period of the previous year, Naftogaz received a net loss of UAH 14.7 billion.

This reported the Company's press service, referring to the newly published financial statement for the relevant period along with the report of the independent international audit firm PriceWaterhouse Coopers' (PwC) Review.

At the same time, the net profit in the second quarter of 2021 was less than the net loss in the first quarter of 2021, and therefore the net loss for the entire first half of 2021 amounted to UAH 1.7 billion. For the first half of the previous year, 2020, the net loss amounted to UAH 11.5 billion, Naftogaz noted.

Therefore, if one subtracts the result of the second quarter from the results for the first half of the year, one can see that the net loss for the first quarter of 2021 amounted to UAH 10.2 billion, Naftogaz noted, and compared to the data for the same period of 2020, where the net profit amounted to UAH 3.2 billion.
