Gas storage facilities are being prepared for the next autumn-winter period

Roman Malyutin, head of Ukrtransgaz, representatives of the Naftogaz Group, and Mykola Kolisnyk, Deputy Minister of Energy of Ukraine, paid a working visit to one of the gas storage facilities of Ukrtransgaz and checked the readiness for the next heating season and the gas injection process. This is reported by the press service of Ukrtransgaz. 

"In the conditions of war, the issue of security remains our priority. We are constantly strengthening the protection of our technological facilities, so that in winter the homes of Ukrainians receive the necessary heat, and clients can freely pump and withdraw gas in the required volumes", - noted the head of Ukrtransgaz, - Considering the 76% capacity of gas storage facilities in the EU, we have already started to inject gas to non-resident customers, this year Ukrtransgaz is ready to pump more than 10 bcm," Malyutin added.

The provision of alternative modes of operation and additional backup power sources in case of crisis situations is one of the elements of strengthening the safety of technological facilities and the guarantee of stable functioning of the gas storage facility. The focus of attention remains on the safety of personnel and the performance of work on the protection of technological facilities. During the visit, the readiness of additional backup power sources, the state of preparation for the heating season, and the state of preparation for emergency situations were checked.

"We continue to provide alternative power sources to critical infrastructure facilities. We must be ready for any scenario. Last year, the Ministry of Energy provided 69 electricity generators for Ukrtransgaz facilities. We are preparing for the next heating season," stressed Deputy Minister of Energy Mykola Kolisnyk.

As a reminder, Ukraine is ready to pump gas from European partners. Ukrtransgaz has a reserve of the necessary capacities for gas injection and extraction even in peak periods.
