Gas prices for Ukrainian households rise 23% starting November 1, 2018
The Cabinet of Minister of Ukraine passed a decision to increase natural gas prices for Ukrainian households by 23%. This was announce by Prime Minister Volodymyr Groysman at the extraordinary plenary session of the Ukrainian government, as reported by Liga news agency.
Mr. Groysman noted, that IMF recommended 60% increase in the price, still the recommendations were alleviated. “ Starting November 1, 2018 there will be an increase in price, but only by 23.5 %”, stated the Prime Minister. This means that Ukrainian households will be charged UAH 8,600 including VAT per 1,000 m3 of natural gas being supplied.
Earlier, at the beginning of March 2018, the Cabinet of Minsters of Ukraine and IMF agreed to gradually increase the price of natural gas for household consumers until 2020, scheduling such increases for December 2018 (+25 %) and for 1Q of 2019 (+15%).
