French TotalEnergies will increase production of American LNG for imports to Europe
French company TotalEnergies has announced plans to increase LNG production at the U.S. Cameron LNG terminal in Louisiana. The company signed a memorandum with other owners of the terminal - Sempra Infrastructure (50.2%), Mitsui & Co., Ltd. (16.6%), and Japan LNG Investment (16.6%).
"The expansion project includes the development of a fourth line with a production capacity of 6.75 million tons per year (9.25 bcm) and a 5% increase in the current 13.5 million tons (18.5 bcm) per year of the first three lines. account of reconstructions, " reported TotalEnergies.
Such projects are becoming popular as European countries try to reduce their dependence on Russian gas by importing more LNG.
