Export of electricity in February increased 12 times
In February 2024, electricity export increased 12 times compared to January to 63,000 MWh, while import decreased by 31.5% to 84,100 MWh. This is stated in the ExPro material "Results of the winter of 23/24 for the Ukrainian electricity industry: attacks, imports and exports, European integration."
The largest volumes of exports came to Moldova, and imports came from Slovakia. In general, during the winter Ukraine imported 439.8 thousand MWh, exported 68.5 thousand MWh. Record imports in December, and significant volumes of exports in February.
During the 3 winter months, Ukrainian companies exported the most to Romania - 31.8%, followed by Moldova with 30%. Most imports came from Slovakia (44.7%) and Romania (34.3%).
"At the end of February, electricity trade with Hungary was resumed, capacity is now also distributed on the JAO platform. Also, from March 4, Ukraine and Slovakia will also switch to the European platform," ExPro points out.
