ERO approves the proposal to increase capacity on the border between the trade zones of Poland and Ukraine

On April 26, the President of the Energy Regulatory Office (ERO) issued a decision on the completion of administrative proceedings on the application of GAZ-SYSTEM for approval of the project to increase capacity on the border of the Polish-Ukrainian trade zone.

The President of the ERO decided that the project proposal submitted by GAZ-SYSTEM meets all the basic requirements under Article 28(1) of the CAM NC for the approval of the additional capacity.

The decision is the basis for the auction of the capacity increase at the GAZ-SYSTEM/UA TSO GCP interconnection point. The auction will take place on July 1, 2024 on the GSA platform. To participate in the auction, registration with both network operators on the GSA platform and acceptance of the General Terms and Conditions for the gradual project of both TSOs is required.

A binding offer level of 3,095,890 kWh/h (about 292 tcm) will be put on the market by GAZ-SYSTEM and the Ukrainian GTS Operator at the annual capacity auction in the 2030/2031 gas year for 15 years.

For the additional capacity in the direction from Poland to Ukraine offered by GAZ-SYSTEM, the President of the ERO approved a base price of zł3.214/MWh/h (€0.74/MWh/h), i.e. the level of the fixed fee for the provision of gas transportation services at the exit point, effective from January 1, 2024 to January 1, 2025.
