"Energoatom" is taking one of the power units for overhaul

SE "NNEGC "Energoatom" is taking one of its nuclear power units for overhaul.

The company announced this on January 3.

"Today, January 3, 2023, in order to ensure nuclear and radiation safety under the terms of the license, one of the power units of SE "NNEGC "Energoatom" is being taken out for scheduled overhaul, which is carried out once every four years," the message reads.

According to the state-owned company, during the overhaul, complete unloading of the reactor core, control of the integrity of the reactor body with an automatic manipulator, preventive maintenance of equipment, removal of spent nuclear fuel and loading of fresh nuclear fuel are carried out.

After the shutdown of the unit, 8 NPP power units will operate in the UES of Ukraine, 6 more - stopped at the occupied Zaporizhzhya NPP in Energodar.
