"Energoatom" connected a 1,000 MW nuclear power unit to the grid

On October 1, "Energoatom" connected a 1,000 MW NPP power unit to the grid after scheduled repairs. This was reported in the press service of the company.

"On October 1, after scheduled and preventive maintenance, Energoatom specialists successfully connected a power unit of one of the NPPs to the power grid. The power set is in progress. Thanks to the high-quality work of nuclear engineers, the unit was taken out of repair 12 days ahead of schedule," the message reads.

"Energoatom is doing everything to ensure that, before the start of the heating season, Ukrainian power units are reloaded with fresh nuclear fuel and prepared for the autumn-winter period. The repair campaign is reaching the finish line and by the start of the heating season, all nine units located on the territory controlled by Ukraine will be ready for operation during the most difficult months. I thank the team for their good work in difficult conditions," said the head of Energoatom Petro Kotin.

Thus, as of October 1, 2024, 8 NPP power units are operating in the power system, out of 9 available.
