D.Trading could agree first LNG tanker delivery from the US this week

D.Trading, the trading arm of Ukraine's DTEK, hopes to sign a contract this week to receive the first LNG tanker from US-based Venture Global and is looking for new long-term LNG supply agreements to help Europe compensate for the loss of Russian gas. This was reported by D.Trading CEO Ivan Geliukh in an interview with Montel.

“We see these volumes as part of the energy security of the entire European region, including Ukraine, of course,” Geliukh said.

The tanker is expected to arrive in December. As a reminder, in June, D.Trading signed a 20-year LNG purchase agreement with Venture Global, which provides for the supply of up to 2 million tons of LNG (2.72 bcm) per year.

This year, only one tanker is likely to be delivered, but next year's deliveries are expected to increase. It is not yet known to which European port LNG will be shipped to D.Trading. According to ExPro, it may be a Greek port.
