DTEK Energo mined 17 million tons of coal in 2021

In 2021, DTEK Energo's mines extracted 17 million tons of thermal coal and put into operation 31 new longwalls. The largest amount was extracted in December 2021 - 1.7 million tons, which is 21% more than the average for the year. In general, in 2021 the rate of production of thermal coal in mines in Ukraine is 22.1 million tons.

This was reported by the DTEK Energo press center.

"Although we are forced to temporarily import fuel to cover its deficit due to the additional burden on our thermal power plants, the use of our own coal remains a priority. As planned, almost 17 million tons were raised last year. This is despite the fact that some mines have implemented an annual production plan a month earlier than planned. In December, we mobilized all available resources and extracted 21% more coal than the average for the year, ”said DTEK Energo CEO Ildar Saleyev.

According to the DTEK, as of January 17, 2022, there are about 500000 tons of coal in the warehouses of the private energy holding, and since the beginning of the year the reserves have increased by 214000 tons.

According to the Ministry of Energy, the production of thermal coal in 2021 totaled 22.153 million tons, of which 16.032 million tons - at the mine of the DTEK Pavlogradugol.
