Drilling in North America increased up to 896 rigs - Baker Hughes
The number of drilling rigs in North America last week (report published June 17) increased by 22 to 896, according to Baker Hughes. 15 of the new 22 installations were added in Canada and the remaining 7 in the United States. Last week, monitoring of drilling rigs showed an increase of 30 units.
There are 156 drilling rigs in operation in Canada, of which 104 are oil and 52 are gas. At the same time, there are 740 drilling rigs in the United States, of which 584 are oil rigs, 154 are gas and two are mixed. Of all drilling rigs in the United States, 721 work on land and 16 offshore projects.
According to Baker Hughes, the number of drilling rigs in North America increased by 309 compared to last year, of which 270 - in the US and 39 - in Canada. Baker Hughes, which publishes data on the number of rigs around the world, notes that the growth of drilling rigs in North America is a positive signal for the market.
