"Centrenergo" started exporting electricity to Moldova

The state generating company "Centrenergo" started exporting electricity for the first time. Deliveries will be to Moldova. This was reported by the State Property Fund of Ukraine.

"Centrenergo will export electricity for the first time in history. Today (ed. - April 26) the company under the management of the Federal State of Ukraine started exporting electricity to Moldova. The start of exports is an opportunity for Centerenergo, which will reduce dependence on the situation on the Ukrainian electricity market and gain access to EU markets. The next steps are to increase export volumes and close cooperation with the European energy sector," the State Property Fund says.

As reported in ExPro Electricity Daily, "Centrenergo" purchased a crossing for export to Moldova on April 26 and 27 - 10 MW for all hours. This is 2% of the total amount of allocated bandwidth. As of April 28, the company has already purchased 11 MW with an even schedule.

According to ExPro data, the volume of electricity exports to Moldova on April 26 is 2,982 MWh. In general, since the opening of exports (for April 11-26), 34.8 thousand MWh were supplied in this direction. According to ExPro calculations, "Centrenergo" has already held 3 auctions, at which it offered electricity for May. Two of them were relatively effective, the company managed to sell 42,672 MWh. The company sells more capacity under bilateral contracts for off-peak load hours.
