Centrenergo offered electricity for April-June 2022

The state-owned generating company PJSC Centrenergo for the first time offered base load electricity with a delivery period of April-June 2022 on the site of the Ukrainian Energy Exchange (UEEX), according to the data of the auction published on November 19, 2021. They offered 25 MW at a starting price of 3200.00 UAH/MWh.

“The PJSC Centrenergo contracted at the end of Q4 of 2021 – Q1 of 2022, the required amount of coal for the uninterrupted passage of the above period and compliance with contractual obligations to buyers. But we do not want to stop there and decided to offer our partners to consider the possibility of purchasing electricity for the 2nd quarter of 2022. This will allow us to accumulate funds for the possibility of replenishing coal stocks after the winter period, and potential buyers are guaranteed the sale of electricity under long-term contracts with consumers. Therefore, the risks of customers from non-supply of electricity will be hedged,” said Volodymyr Halushchak, Centerenergo's Director for Energy Trading exclusively to ExPro’s query.

According to data obtained by ExPro, the PJSC Centrenergo has already been contracted on the market of bilateral agreements with 252 MW of base load for January 2022, 251 MW for February 2022, and 211 MW for March 2022.
