​​At night, the occupiers fired at the generation facility in the south - NPC "Ukrenergo"

The electricity supply situation in the frontline regions remains difficult due to damage to power grids. Also, on the night of January 9, one of the energy facilities in southern Ukraine was shelled.

This was reported in the NPC "Ukrenergo" in the morning summary.

"The situation with electricity supply in the front-line regions in the east and south remains difficult due to power grids damage. In addition, at night, the Russians fired at one of the generation facilities in the south of the country," the Ukrainian operator of the transmission system reported.

In particular, Ukrenergo indicates that electricity consumption by industry and business is increasing on Monday morning. Therefore, consumption limits have been brought to all regions, which are valid from 4:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Emergency shutdowns are possible if the limits are exceeded.

"Currently, the energy system is unable to cover consumption in full due to the damage and occupation by the enemy of a number of power plants that produce electricity, including the most powerful Zaporizhzhya NPP," the company emphasized.
