2023 will be a record for UGV in the number of new gas wells - Vityk

2023 will be a record year for Ukrgazvydobuvannya JSC in terms of the number of new gas wells. Moreover, the company also plans to obtain the largest volume of gas production from new wells. This was stated by Maksym Vityk, director of exploration and development of Ukrgazvydobuvannya.

According to him, such an achievement will be possible thanks to the improvement of the quality of the determination of points for drilling new wells and the increase of drilling rates.

"The generation of new drilling points today is 100% carried out within the company, that is, in-house. Involvement of leading Ukrainian and international experts in the team, review of key processes, and use of new technologies made it possible to significantly increase the drilling success rate and increase the received flow rates," Maksym Vityk noted.

For further study of the subsurface, Ukrgazvydobuvannya is currently conducting the most extensive 3D seismic work in western Ukraine, and in the coming years plans to increase its volume and expand the geography. In order to increase the efficiency of extraction of hydrocarbons from wells, the company will use the latest, more powerful equipment to perform hydraulic fracturing of the formation, in particular, at great depths - more than 5,500 m.
