Ukraine is interested in trading oil and equipment for the oil and gas industry with Kazakhstan
Ukraine is interested in supplying Kazakhstan its production equipment for the oil and gas industry. This was reported on June 18, at a meeting of the joint Interstate Ukrainian-Kazakh Commission on economic cooperation with the participation of the First Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Economy of Ukraine Oleksiy Lyubchenko and Minister of Trade and Integration of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakhit Sultanov, as well as the Deputy Minister for European Integration Yaroslav Demchenkov.
In particular, they discussed the supply of drilling rigs and pumps for oil pumping, compressor stations, wells treatment units, pipeline fittings, and trucks to Kazakhstan. In addition, Yaroslav Demchenkov noted that Kazakhstan and Ukraine can deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in oil trade and transit. "We are interested in the supply of Kazakh oil and its transit through the territory of Ukraine by pipeline transport. We have created all the technical conditions necessary for the transportation of light oil via the Odessa-Brody and Druzhba oil pipelines.
The organization of such supplies will meet the needs of the European consumers in light oil and at the same time ensure the diversification of oil supply routes by Kazakh companies to the EU countries," Yaroslav Demchenkov stressed.
The parties also discussed the issue of hydrogen energy, and the potential of production of "blue", "green" and "yellow" hydrogen in Ukraine. Currently, studies are being conducted to assess the capabilities of the Ukrainian GTS for transporting hydrogen to the EU countries, where significant potential has already been outlined. Therefore, this area is also attractive for creating joint projects for the production, use, and transportation of hydrogen together with the representatives of Kazakh businesses.
