A market operator has already developed software for trading guarantees of origin

The Market operator has already developed software for trading guarantees of origin and approved trading rules on its own platform. Maryna Kotlyarenko, head of the regulatory department at JSC "Market Operator", announced this during the online event "Guarantees of origin as a tool for financing the green transition. The current status of the implementation of the GO system in Ukraine", which was held by the UN Global Compact in Ukraine jointly with ExPro within the framework of the Ukraine Energy Initiative.

However, according to the representative of the "Market Operator", trade of the state-owned enterprises cannot yet take place without an active register, which must be created by the NEURC.

Maryna Kotlyarenko shared details about the "Market Operator" platform for trading guarantees of origin of electricity from RES - it is assumed that there will be several types of trades to meet the needs of participants, and the trade itself will be carried out using standardized products.

"We plan to guarantee the fulfillment of the obligations of the bidders - this applies to both financial obligations and those directly related to the transfer of guarantees of origin into ownership from the seller to the buyer," says Maryna Kotlyarenko.

As the head of the regulatory department pointed out, already after the launch of the registry at the NEURC, "Market Operator" plans to test it and adjust its own trading platform to its features.
