Vitalii Zaychenko - the new Chairman of the Board of NPC “Ukrenergo”

Vitalii Zaychenko became the new Chairman of the Board of the transmission system operator PrJSC NPC “Ukrenergo”. The Supervisory Board of the joint-stock company made the corresponding decision on Monday, June 23, ExPro reports.

In November 2024, Vitaliy Zaychenko, the Chief Dispatcher and Director for Management of the Unified Power System of Ukraine, joined the Board of NPC “Ukrenergo”. He was responsible for the centralized operational and technological management of the Unified Power System of Ukraine, coordination of the parallel operation of the Unified Power System of Ukraine with the ENTSO-E energy association, ensuring reliable and uninterrupted transmission of electricity from generation facilities to energy supply companies, compliance with the requirements of Ukraine’s energy security.

He also ensured the planning of balances and operating modes of the Unified Power System of Ukraine.

Vitalii Zaychenko has unique experience in operational dispatch management of the Ukrainian power system in extreme operating conditions: from the isolated operation of the Unified Power System of Ukraine in the first weeks after the full-scale Russian invasion to the synchronization of the Ukrainian and European power systems in the midst of war. He began his career as a qualified specialist as an engineer in the electrical mode optimization service of Ukrenergo back in 1996. He actively participated in research to create the “Burshtyn TPP island” and the possibility of synchronously connecting the Unified Power System of Ukraine with the ENTSO-E energy association.

He received an engineering degree in “power plants” from the National Technical University “Kyiv Polytechnic Institute”.
