Ukrnafteinvest plans drilling 8 wells in the Odessa region

PrJSC "Scientific-Production Complex " Ukrnaftinvest " initiated public discussions of their Environmental Impact Assessment of the planned drillion of 8 exploration wells with depth of 3300m-3400m on the Beilioliska and Alibeysk-Trapivska gas field acreages in Odessa Region, Ukraine.

The announcement about the initiated drilling works and Environmental Impact Assessments(EIA) was posted on EIA Register under the Ministry of Ecology of Natural Resources of Ukraine on May 6, 2019. Public hearings on both well sites will take place on July 19, 2019 at the conference hall of the Odessa Regional Universal Library named after Mykhailo Hrushevsky at 11:00 and at 13:00.

According to the announcement of Ukrnaftinvest, the planned exploratory drilling activities will be carried out in the following areas:

1. Search and exploration of deposits of oil, gas and gas condensate, including exploratory development with subsequent production of hydrocarbons in the Alibeysk-Trapivska gas field area, Tatarbunar district, Odesa Region. They plan exploratory Well №3 and Well №4 (Zarichnaya structure) to the depth of 3300 m each by JZ-40 diesell drive drilling rig. They also plan to build up separating & metering station for the collection, preparation and shipment of oil, gas and gas condensate, and the construction of production pipelines (infrastructure and inhibitor pipelines) of 3000 m each to manage the expected daily production inflows of 5,000 m3 thousand of natural gas and 70 ton of crude oil.

2. Search and exploration of deposits of oil, gas and gas condensate, including exploratory development with subsequent production of hydrocarbons in the Beloiske gas field area, Saratskiy district , Odesa region.

The above scheduled activities include the drilling of 6 exploration wells: Well №2 Well №4, Well №10 ( Sergievskaya structure), Well №4 (Yaroslavska structure) each with depth of 3300 m, and Well №3 and Well №4 (Rozivska structure) each with a depth of 3400 m, using JZ-40 diesell drive drilling rig with a typical layout of the wellheads.

It is also planned to construct temporary separating & metering station for the collection, preparation and shipment of oil, gas and gas condensate from each well. Temporary separating & metering station should include: oil separation system, reservoir water and gas, oil heating system, gas preparation system, system of utilization of associated petroleum gas with a vertical flare installation, reservoir water treatment system, reservoir water collection and pumping system into trailered capacities, capacious storage for dehydrated oil, anhydrous oil loading system into mobile tanks, power supply system, automation and risk protection system, drainage system, units for metering of oil, water, and gas.

The 6 wells in Sergievskaya Yaroslavska and Rozivska structures will be interconnected with production pipelines (infrastructure and inhibitor pipelines) of 3000 m each to manage the expected daily production inflows of hydrocarbons.

The company has special permits for oil and gas extraction in Odessa Region, which were obtained in 2004 (encompassing the Biloliska gas field area and the Alibeysk-Trapivska gas field area). According to media, Ukrnaftinvest was created in the 90's of the last century as stemming from "SK Divo-Bud" Company, which belongs to Mr. Grigory Trokhymenko and Mr. Volodymyr Chernysh. The minority shareholder of Ukrnaftinvest is Mr. Leonid Kozachenko, President of the Ukrainian Agrarian Confederation, Ex-Chairman of the Cabinet of Entrepreneurs under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine, former Vice Prime Minister in 2001-2002, and now a MP of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine from the Poroshenko Block.

The Beliliska gas field area Alibeysk-Tropivska gas field area are most promising in oil and gas in the Pridriborsky depression (Odesa Region), with 18 formation spreading over 274 sq km.

Within the Beliliska gas field area, they discovered two formations: East-Saratske oil field in 1972 (within depths of 2600m - 3300 m), and Zhovtoyarske oil&gas field in 1983 ((within depths of 3100m-3900m). The deepest well, Furmanivska-1, ever drilled in Odesa Region was 5506 m deep.

ODESA OFFSHORE CONFERENCE-2019 Ukraine has every chance to resume the work of the most promising oil and gas region, the Southern oil&gas fields. The untapped deposits of oil and gas are located both onshore and subsea. Four companies have already poised to conclude Production Sharing Agreements with Ukraine, whilst bidding for the Dolphin oil&gas fields on Black Sea shelf. The Odesa Offshore Conference (OOC2019) will serve as a venue for Ukrainian and international bidders to meet with local and international drilling, oilfield service and equipment manufacturers to kick-off emerging subsea and onshore projects in Ukraine.
