Ukrainian privately-run gas producers grew by 6%, up to 442 mcm in October 2021
In October 2021, Ukrainian private gas production companies collectively produced 442 mcm of natural gas, by 6% more than in October 2020, according to data obtained by ExPro Consulting. Noteworthy, this is a new historical record high for monthly gas production by private oil&gas sector in Ukraine.
The average daily production reached 14.25 mcm, by 3% more than in September 2021, with the share of private companies in gas production of Ukraine reaching 26% in October 2021, while the share of the state-run JSC UkrGasVydobuvannya was down to 68%.
Moreover, in January-October, 2021, the production of natural gas by private companies increased by 2%, up to 4.13 bcm, also a record high value. Most private companies stabilized production in October 2021, and two major private natural gas producers significantly increased production.
The DTEK Oil&Gas showed the largest growth, while extracting 192 mcm of natural gas in October 2021, or by 26 mcm (+ 15%) more than in October 2020. In January-October 2021, the DTEK Oil&Gas increased gas production by 11%, up to almost 1.7 bcm, and remained the largest private gas production company in Ukraine, producing more than 40% of gas produced by private oil&gas sector of Ukraine, and about 11% of all natural gas produced nationwide.
Also, in October 2021, the Zakhidnadraservis Group of companies increased natural gas production by 4 mcm (+ 20%), up to 23.7 mcm. In 10 months of 2021, the company produced almost 230 mcm of natural gas, or by 40% more. than in January-October 2020.
As earlier reported by ExPro, the JSC UkrGasVydobuvannya during January-October 2021 slashed in reduced natural gas production compared to January-October 2020 by 4.5%, or by 540 mcm less, down to 11.37 bcm. In October 2021, the largest Ukrainian state-run gas producer dropped in gas production by 2% (-23 mcm), down to 1.16 bcm.
