Transit of Russian gas through the Ukrainian GTS remains unchanged
The transit of Russian gas through the Ukrainian gas transportation system is going on as usual, the Ukrainian Gas Transmission System Operator (GTSOU) told ExPro.
"The nominations have been confirmed, and the physical flow of gas is maintained," the GTSOU said.
On Wednesday, August 7, Telegram channels reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had taken control of the Sudzha gas metering station in the Kursk region of Russia.
The Sudzha gas metering station is a key facility for the supply of Russian gas to Europe through Ukraine. Currently, Sudzha is the only point through which Russian gas enters Ukraine for transportation to European customers.
On August 7, the volume of Russian gas transit amounted to about 39.5 mcm, 6.8% less than the day before (42.4 mcm).
In general, Russian gas transit in 2024 remains relatively stable at 42-42.4 mcm per day. In the first 7 months of 2024, Ukraine transported 9 bcm of Russian gas.
