The southern oil and gas province is at the initial stage of the study

The current state of the reserves of the southern oil and gas province and the main directions of its development was the topic of the speech of Mykola Kharchenko, Ph.D. of Geology and Mineralogical Sciences, an acting expert at the SCR at the Odesa Offshore Conference 2021 on September 23, 2021

The southern oil and gas province is currently at the initial stage of the study. This applies both to its onshore part (Zhovtoyarske and East Saratska prospects), and offshore (shelf) of the Black Sea.

And the degree of development of the initial reserves of the offshore area is only 3.5%, the expert noted.

To date, oil and gas potential has been confirmed at 8 fields, including Arkhangelske, Bezimenne, Krymske, Odeske, Pivdenno-Holitsynske, and Schmidt gas fields, and Holitsynske and Shtormove gas condensate fields. However, there are also 13 prospects on the offshore (Hamburtseva, Dolphin, Desantna, Yevpatoriyska, Illichivska, Karkinitska, Pradniprovska, Pivdenno-Bortova, Selskoho, Fedorivska, Flangova, Shtilyova, and Tsentralna) with the so-called "negative" drilling results.
