The European Investment Bank has provided €50 million to Naftogaz for gas purchases

The European Investment Bank and Naftogaz of Ukraine signed another loan agreement for €50 million on January 28. This was announced by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy following a meeting with Prime Minister Yuliia Svyrydenko and Naftogaz CEO Sergii Koretskyi.

“Yesterday, another agreement with the European Investment Bank for €50 million was signed, and it is the EIB and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development that provide the main volume of financial support,” Zelenskyy said.

According to the President, gas supply for Ukrainians remains reliable despite all challenges. Natural gas imports continue in sufficient volumes.

As reported, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development recently announced the allocation of an additional €85 million to Ukraine for the purchase of additional natural gas imports.
