Svitlana Hrynchuk resigns as Ukraine’s Minister of Energy
Svitlana Hrynchuk has submitted a resignation letter from the position of Minister of Energy of Ukraine. She announced this on her Facebook page.
"The position has never been a goal in itself for me," she commented.
Next week, the Verkhovna Rada is expected to vote on the dismissal of Svitlana Hrynchuk and Herman Halushchenko from their positions. These issues are the first items on the agenda of the Parliament’s meeting on November 18.
As reported earlier, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, supported the dismissal of the Minister of Justice, Herman Halushchenko, and the Minister of Energy, Svitlana Hrynchuk.
"I believe that the Minister of Justice and the Minister of Energy cannot remain in their positions. This is, among other things, a matter of trust. If there are accusations, they must be answered. The decision to suspend them from office is operational, the fastest possible," said the President.
He noted that he asked Prime Minister Yulia Svyrydenko to ensure that “resignation letters from these ministers are submitted,” and called on members of the Verkhovna Rada to support these resignations.
