State budget revenues from natural gas rent may double in 2023 - up to UAH 97.4 billion

In 2023, the amount of revenues to the state budget from rent payments for the use of subsoil for natural gas production is expected to be UAH 97.4 billion, almost twice as much as the budget for 2022.

The relevant data are published in the draft Law on the State Budget for 2023 approved by the Government.

As a reminder, the rent for natural gas production is currently linked to the prices of natural gas in Europe. It is expected that soon the calculation of rent may be tied to gas prices on the domestic market.

In addition, about UAH 9.6 billion in revenue is expected from rent for oil production and UAH 3.2 billion from rent for gas condensate production.

As ExPro reports, on September 13, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the project of the Law "On the State Budget of Ukraine for 2023", which foresees total expenditures in the amount of UAH 2.57 trillion, revenues - UAH 1.28 trillion. The monthly budget deficit is $3 billion or UAH 1.29 trillion per year.
