Russian oil transit through Ukraine doubled in July
Transit of Russian oil to the EU through the Ukrainian part of the Druzhba pipeline doubled in July 2024, to 1.09 million tons, despite Hungary and Slovakia's statements about stopping supplies to Lukoil. This is stated in the issue of ExPro Weekly Crude Oil & Condensate.

Compared to June, the volume of Russian oil transit doubled: from 0.54 million tons to 1.09 million tons, according to ExPro calculations. According to the publication, in July, transit volumes amounted to 35.2 thousand tons per day, and in August - 33.3 thousand tons per day. It is not yet known which companies own the oil transported through Ukraine to Europe.
In July, most of the oil was transported to Hungary - 0.43 million tons, which is 8% less than in June. Oil supplies to Slovakia, on the other hand, increased 5 times to 0.34 million tons. In addition, 0.32 million tons of oil were transported to the Czech Republic, while in June there was no transit to the Czech Republic.
In total, in 7 months of 2024, Ukraine transported about 6.23 million tons of Russian oil to Europe. Raw materials are supplied to three countries: Hungary (2.84 million tons, or 46% of all supplies), Slovakia (1.92 million tons, or 31%), and the Czech Republic (1.46 million tons, or 23%).
The panic over the transit of Russian oil to the EU through the Ukrainian section of the Druzhba pipeline is gradually subsiding as news about gas transit has come to the fore.
As a reminder, in July, Ukraine was accused of allegedly stopping the transit of Russian oil. Later it became known that Ukraine had imposed sanctions on Lukoil, which led to a halt in the company's oil supplies. Nevertheless, the overall volume of oil transit increased.
