Naftogaz Trading resumes gas sales to industrial consumers in Ukraine

Gas Supply Company Naftogaz Trading LLC is resuming natural gas sales on the Ukrainian market for industrial consumers. The company announced this on its official website, ExPro reports.

Naftogaz Trading is ready to supply industrial consumers with the required volumes of natural gas during April–May 2026. As of April 9, 2026, the selling price stands at 32,000 UAH/tcm (incl. VAT).

The company has also entered the Ukrainian Energy Exchange auctions with a similar offer, proposing to sell 1 mcm of the April resource (delivery from April 15 to April 30) and 1 mcm of the May resource. The starting price is 32,000 UAH/tcm (incl. VAT) on a prepayment basis. Volumes may be increased depending on demand.

According to Natural Gas ExPro Quotations, natural gas prices in Ukraine on April 8 stood at 29,700 - 30,200 UAH/tcm (incl. VAT).

Naftogaz Trading last sold natural gas on the exchange prior to the full-scale invasion, in January 2022. In 2019–2021, the company was the main gas seller on the Ukrainian Energy Exchange, having sold more than 2.8 bcm of natural gas over that period.

At the same time, following the start of the full-scale invasion, the company suspended gas sales to industrial consumers on the exchange. Instead, in November 2023, Naftogaz Trading began purchasing domestically produced gas on the exchange for its own needs. From November 2023 to July 2025, the company purchased 1.29 bcm of natural gas on the exchange.

In certain months (November–December 2024), the company sold natural gas to industrial consumers outside the exchange. However, for most of the period since the full-scale invasion, Naftogaz Trading has not supplied gas to industrial consumers, continuing instead to sell gas at regulated prices to heat producers, electricity generators, budget-funded entities, and religious organizations under its public service obligations (PSO).

It should be recalled that in March, the government amended the PSO framework, under which electricity producers (except for new facilities in frontline regions) will no longer receive natural gas at preferential prices from Naftogaz Trading.
